Boston, Ma. (Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017) – A testament to his leadership skills, Senator Ralph Alvarado was recently selected as a member of the Executive Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) to represent the Commonwealth of Kentucky on a national platform.
“I am excited and humbled to be named to NCSL’s Executive Committee,” Alvarado said. “This is a unique opportunity to grow Kentucky’s profile and further learn and share ideas with other leaders across the country.”
NCSL’s Executive Committee is the governing body of the conference. The Executive Committee and conference officers have supervision, control and direction of the affairs of the conference, its committees and publications. It also implements the policies and supervises the disbursement of its funds.
Since 1975, NCSL has been the champion of state legislatures. NCSL helps states remain strong and independent by giving them the tools, information and resources to craft the best solutions to difficult problems. NCSL frequently fights against unwarranted actions in Congress and has saved states more than $1 billion. The conference conducts workshops to sharpen the skills of lawmakers and legislative staff in every state.
